The Regent of Bandung Appreciates the “Women Voice Overseeing JKN-KIS” AKATIGA – Fatayat NU
Soreang, Kab. Bandung. The Regent of Bandung Dadang Supriatna welcomed and appreciated the Women with a Voice Overseeing JKN-KIS program which was launched at the Korpri Building, Soreang, Bandung Regency (16/9). In his remarks Dadang said that “This program is one of the innovations and proof that women’s organizations can continue to contribute to the good of society”.
He also said that women play a big role not only in the family but also in regional and state development, including in the health sector. “This program must be able to bridge women’s health access in Bandung Regency,” he said.
The launch event was also accompanied by the signing of an MoU between Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (Fatayat NU) Bandung Regency branch as program executor and Bandung Regency Government. Apart from being attended directly by the Regent, heads of related services and directors of hospitals in Bandung Regency, the event was also attended by representatives from Fatayat NU from the Bandung Regency, Provincial and Central levels. Also present were representatives from AKATIGA’s Center for Social Analysis as the initiator and implementer of this program.
In her remarks, Nurul Widyaningrum, Senior Researcher from AKATIGA said that “AKATIGA and Fatayat NU are implementing this program to expand the reach of JKN while improving the quality of health services for the community”.
Nurul further said that in order to expand the reach of JKN and improve the quality of health services, collaboration between various parties is needed including the government and civil society organizations.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of PC Fatayat NU, Bandung Regency, Yayu Juariah, in her remarks said that this program could also help strengthen the ability of Fatayat cadres in providing services to the community. “There will be fatayat cadres who have the capacity to help the poor, including women and children,” said Yayu.
“Through this program it is hoped that there will be an increase in JKN-KIS health services for poor families, through assistance provided by Fatayat cadres,” he continued.
The Women’s Voice Program Overseeing JKN-KIS is a program initiated by AKATIGA and implemented together with Fatayat NU in eight districts in West Java, Central Java, East Java, Jambi and Maluku. This program is supported by the World Bank and will be implemented over the next four years. [AM]
