AKATIGA WORKING METHOD

AKATIGA encourages the birth of research-based policies. This is done through advocacy works and providing information to AKATIGA partners.

How AKATIGA works, who we work with, and what we strive for, is described below:

  • 2001

    AKATIGA AND ASSPUK COOPERATION

AKATIGA and ASPPUK jointly conducted an analysis of the process of marginalization of women small business actors and looked at ASPPUK’s role in helping this group fight against its marginalization process. Another example of cooperation is the joint research of the People’s Coalition for Food Sovereignty (KRKP) in 2004-2005 to conduct research and build local food system modules.

AKATIGA’s research with trade unions on a living wage (2009), used by MPBI (the largest alliance of trade/labor unions after 1998) to advocate for a decent living component as a basis for determining the minimum wage and AKATIGA’s research on flexible labor market practices (2010) used by MPBI to advocate for restrictions and protection of outsourced labour.
